How to be a ski instructor

By Kris Brown

Winter and Fall mean the change in seasons when the weather gets colder, trees lose their leaves, and people engage in winter sports. Estimates are that 10 to 12 percent of the population of the U.S., head for the nearest slopes, to take in some skiing, and snowboarding. For some it is their first time and they need some instruction. If you are a good skier then you have the opportunity to become a ski coach.

Where to find a job as a ski instructor? The first question you should ask yourself what is what is my budget. How much should I spend to get a job of a ski instructor? I can get the information on the internet but is it required to travel?

How far away will I have to travel for interviews, etc? Do I need to spend money for a quality resume? How much extra money will I need for the season? Most of the instructors generally spend 150 days on the slopes. Asking yourself these questions will help you make the best decision.

The second question is to decide where you want to go? Is it necessary to travel some other country or I can stay back at my own place?

You can also think of collecting information from people who have knowledge about this field of work. These people have vast knowledge about the profession and can be of great help for you. You can take the correct decision by eliminating sources that really don't go well for you.

Getting a ski instructor's certification will also be great. Your chance of getting a job will increase with these no doubt. Look for places in the internet from where you can get official recognition. Such organizations as PSIA, BASI, or CSIA can be a big help.

If you love skiing, and have what it takes to do the work, taking advantage of these few skiing tips will help you to find a job as a ski instructor. Before you know it, you will be on the slopes again not only doing what you love, but getting the pay that goes along with it.
