State College Sports of San Jose

College sports in San Jose are currently only being played by the San Jose State Spartans. San Jose State competes in the Western Athletic Meeting at the division one level of college sports, so school sports in San Jose are being played at the top level feasible.

San Jose College Baseball

The San Jose State Spartans have enjoyed mild success on the baseball field across the years. San Jose State have also played in the meeting championship an overall total of 3 times. These championships occurred in 1997, 2000 and 2009. The 2000 season was also the 1st time the San Jose Spartans got to play in the World Series.

San Jose State has produced professional major league baseball players Kevin Fransden, Ken Caminiti, and Mark Langston.

San Jose College Basketball

The San Jose Spartans won their first championship in basketball in 1925 and have won eleven more titles since that time. The most recent meeting championship was in 1996. The 1951, 1980 and 1996 seasons all saw the San Jose State Spartans enter the NCAA Competition, but they'd ultimately lose in the 1st round each season. San Jose State has had some concerns winning games since they have entered the Western Athletic Meeting, but they appear be headed in the proper direction.

San Jose State basketball player alumni Wally Rank, Darnell Hillman, and Tariq Abdul-Wahad have all gained a place on the NBA after their college basketball careers caught the attention of NBA scouts.

San Jose College Football

The San Jose State Spartans play all their home soccer games at Spartans Stadium, which holds just over thirty thousand people. The Spartans have won sixteen meeting championships and have played in 8 post-season bowl games.

The loss in the 2006 New Mexico Bowl was San Jose State's 3rd loss in their 8 bowl games. San Jose university soccer saw over one hundred football players gain a position in the NFL after having played at San Jose State..

San Jose College Hockey

Most pleasant weather faculties struggle to have success in hockey, but this can not be claimed about San Jose university hockey. San Jose State played their first game of hockey in 1990.

The San Jose State Spartans saw instant success with their hockey programme and finished the 1992 season with an undefeated record. San Jose State has played in the ACHA countrywide championship 8 times.
